My Great Dad

Isaac made a book about his Daddy for Father's Day. He drew pictures to go with each of the "questions" he had to answer about his Daddy. We thought it turned out pretty cute.

1. My daddy is 26 years old.
2. My dad loves to cook food.
3. His favorite food is pickles.
4. It makes him happy when he plays with me.
5. I really love it when my dad eats with me.

Recent Isaac-isms. . .

The other day we were all in the car, and Isaac was talking and talking AND talking. Sometimes this child does not stop talking! Nate was getting a little tired of it and said, "Isaac. Zip it!" There was a (brief) pause, and then Isaac, in all seriousness, said, "I don't have a zipper, Daddy!"

This is kind of gross, but I'll share it anyway. . . the other day Isaac was going potty. He still needs some help when he goes #2, so he called me in to help him out. I got him off of the potty and said, "Whoa, Isaac. That's a lot of poop!" And then he told me, "I was just trying to fill it up!"

Isaac can get a little demanding at times. We are working on using "May I?" rather than "I need" when he makes his requests. Well, the other day, he was telling me all of the things he was needing, and I said, "Yes, your highness," sarcastically. Then he said, "Mommy, I'm not a majesty."

Caroline was watching the kids the other night, and Isaac was telling her all about something (a bug, I think), obviously using his very wild imagination. Caroline said, "Isaac, are you pretending?" His response: "No, I'm for real-ing."
